Slade Degree show MA/MFA 2025

At the Degree Show Julia presented three short films set in Vilnius, Lithuania. The films are responses to historical sites where political violence was taking place and which have been converted into a cultural venue; a former KGB and Gestapo headquarters preserved as a museum; or as memorials outside of Vilnius and Kaunas. This project is a discussion of witnessing, remembrance, resistance and multi-temporality – the past which still holds a strong presence and haunts the present moment.
